Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the IFPO is not distributing food on Wednesday mornings at the Church of the Epiphany & Christ Church. The IFPO is now serving clients by appointment only out of a temporary location. Registered IFPO clients with a pantry card who wish to make an appointment to pick up food: please email ifporanges@gmail.com or call/text 973-856-4000.  Please include your name, address, cell phone number, and IFPO card number. 

 

The IFPO also is working with the townships of Orange and East Orange to get food into the community. Please check back for updates. 

 

If you are not currently a registered IFPO client, please see the area options below for food assistance. The IFPO is continually updating this page as we learn of emergency response programs.

​​Emergency Food Pantries & Food Distributions

  • Essex County Emergency Food Distribution each Thursday. Next distribution: Sept. 24, 9 am  Essex County Independence Park, Van Buren Street, Newark. Rain or shine. Walk up only. Bring shopping cart.

  • Saturdays 12:00 - 1:00, Christine's Kitchen, Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 315 Main Street, West Orange. Free bagged lunch to go. All are welcome.

  • Saturdays 11:00 - 1:30, Free bagged lunch and groceries, Emergency food pantry of Church of the Epiphany and Christ Church, 105 Main Street, Orange. Rain or shine in the Church parking lot. Clients can pick-up groceries twice a month.​​

  • Sunday meals and more on designated dates, St. Matthew AME Church, 336 Oakwood Ave,. Orange. Details here. 

  • Tuesdays, 9:00 - 12:00, Holy Trinity Food Pantry, 315 Main Street, West Orange. Open to residents of Oranges and/or referrals from an approved agency once a week. Bring ID​.

  • Saturday, Sept. 26, 8 am to 11 am. Our Lady of Sorrows Food Pantry. 4th St (btw Prospect & Academy), South Orange. Vehicles can pull up to the area marked with cones and pop the trunk to receive a full bag. Open to all.

  • Sunday, Sept. 26, 11 am. Non-perishable food, one bag per household, drive-thru. Beth El Gospel Church, 8-10 Grant Ave. East Orange. Details here.

 

City of Orange Residents​​​
  • The City of Orange has resumed food distribution at a new location (they are NOT distributing at Rosa Parks any longer). Food is now available on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 - 2 at the field house on Lincoln Avenue, next to 232 Lincoln. Between Jackson Street and Central Avenue.

  • ORANGE SCHOOL DISTRICT GRAB AND GO MEALS: The District will continue to provide packaged ‘Grab-and-Go’ breakfast and lunch during all virtual/remote phases of the 2020-2021 school year, at no cost to families, from 7:30 AM - 1:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Details here.

  • City of Orange seniors and families with children can call the City at 973-280-1621.

East Orange Residents
  • East Orange Residents of all ages: Grab & Go Meals, Monday-Friday 11 AM to 3 PM. Fellowship Civic Center, 1 Fellowship Circle

  • Every Wednesday, Office of Emergency Management, 402 Springdale Avenue, Grab N' Go Lunches, and Fresh Produce distributed starting at 12:00 pm while supplies last! Details here.

  • Wednesday evening distributions, Third Ward Community Center, 120 Rhode Island Ave. 5:30 pm.  Walk-up only. ID needed. Details here. 

  • East Orange Senior Center, 90 Halsted Street, East Orange, while supplies last. Food distribution for all ages as detailed here for East Orange residents with photo ID. Drive through or walk-up.​​​
