COVID Volunteer Information
The IFPO is operating with limited volunteer opportunities.
All volunteers must be fully vaccinated, sign up in advance, and agree to the IFPO Volunteer Covid Waiver. For information about volunteer opportunities for adults and high school students and to receive the sign up link, email IFPOranges@gmail.com.
We are unable to accept groups at this time.
Due to COVID, we have suspended client choice and are pre-packaging bags for clients to minimize touches. On Mondays, generally we package groceries, toiletries and/or diaper supplies and organize inventory. These are assembly-line style, indoor jobs.
We distribute food to clients on Wednesday mornings. We have an outdoor crew that serves the walk-up and drive-through client stations. Volunteers are also needed to unload delivery trucks and move cases of food into the warehouse. Most distribution-day jobs require continual lifting.
Volunteers are required to be fully vaccinated and a wear face covering at all times. Please refrain from visiting the pantry if you, or anyone in your household, are experiencing any COVID-like symptoms.
The Teen Board consists of students in grades 9-12, from various high schools and towns who volunteer at the IFPO and are interested in combating hunger. Teen Board members develop leadership skills by organizing and staffing fundraisers and food drives. These events are held on weekends or school breaks.
Student-volunteers who are interested in joining the Teen Board should email IFPOranges@gmail.com or speak to a pantry manager during your volunteer shift.
