COVID Volunteer Information

The IFPO has volunteer hours on Monday and Wednesday mornings. Advance sign-up is required. For information about volunteer opportunities for adults and high school students or to receive the sign up link, email

On Mondays, generally we package groceries, toiletries and/or diaper supplies, organize inventory and perform other pantry prep work. Most of these jobs are indoors and require standing for the duration of the shift.

The IFPO offers outdoor food distribution to clients on Wednesday mornings, except the first Wednesday of the month.

Volunteer activities include: loading grocery bags and produce boxes into vehicles that come through our drive up line and offering groceries to clients as they walk through our outdoor marketplace stations. Volunteers are also needed to unload delivery trucks and move cases of food into the warehouse. Many distribution-day jobs require lifting, please read the signup job description carefully. All volunteer jobs require standing for the duration of the shift. 

Volunteers are strongly encouraged to be vaccinated and must agree to the IFPO Volunteer Covid Waiver.

Due to the nature of our warehouse and our work, volunteers must be adults or high school students. Unfortunately, we are not able to accept younger children.
