Hunger does not take a holiday. This year, IFPO is preparing for 500 pantry visits for Thanksgiving and an additional 350 for Christmas. We anticipate reaching more than 3,000 individuals in just two days of holiday operation. In addition, IFPO is expanding our holiday outreach activities and there are many ways you and your family can get involved with ThankServing 2019 and "Help for the Holidays."
IFPO is collecting new and gently used, good-condition winter coats in adult and child sizes. If you wish to purchase a new coat, Mens and Women's Sizes XL, XXL are most in need.

Frozen Turkey Drop-Off:

Interested in donating a frozen turkey? We need 500 this year!
On Sunday, November 24th, you can deliver frozen-- never thawed-- turkeys to:
Christ Church (Short Hills) from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
Temple B’nai Jeshurun from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel (TSTI) from 8:30 a.m. to noon
On the morning of November 24th, TSTI, 432 Scotland Road, South Orange, will also accept donations of unopened, unexpired, non-perishable food (cans and hard plastic packing only-- no glass please), as well as non-perishable Thanksgiving groceries such as: canned sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, turkey gravy, canned vegetables, mac and cheese, and stuffing.
* Please do NOT drop off a turkey any time other than the morning of November 24th, unless you make personal arrangements with an IFPO volunteer at a mutually agreeable location. None of the collection sites have freezer space to preserve the turkey until our distribution date.
NEW Toys for Holidays
IFPO is organizing a toy collection to offer to our clients on December 18th. IFPO is seeking the following, NEW, never used, small, unwrapped toys. Our goal is collect 1,000 new toys!

While IFPO generally welcomes walk-in volunteers, and we know that there is tremendous interest in helping, we must limit volunteers for our holiday events due to safety and fire code regulations. HOT Thanksgiving Luncheon:
Food Needed—Saturday, November 23rd
The Church of the Epiphany and Christ Church has asked IFPO for help obtaining hot food donations for their festive Thanksgiving luncheon for members of the Church and IFPO clients. They expect to serve 500 people this year.
Volunteers are needed to prepare and deliver hot, cooked food-- store bought or homemade-- to the Church of the Epiphany and Christ Church between
11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
A very limited number of on-site volunteer slots are available for those who are donating hot food.

Pantry Prep: Sunday, November 24th 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Volunteers are needed on Sunday, November 24th, between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to unload and sort food and coats in preparation for Wednesday’s distribution. This is a physical day that involves lifting.

7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
A limited number of volunteers are needed to organize and fill grocery bags, distribute turkeys & pies, and help clients select winter coats from 7:00 a.m. through 1:00 p.m. Volunteers must be registered in advance. For safety purposes, walk-in volunteers cannot be accepted on this date. Volunteers should be a mature age 12+, parental supervision required.
