IFPO COAT COLLECTION 2019-- FEEL THE IMPACT
Lily was brave enough to remove herself and her children from a dangerous home, and is now a single mother raising children ages 10, 7 and 5. Despite working two jobs, as a home health aide and as a crossing guard, she lives paycheck to paycheck, and worries about providing for her children by herself. Every day, she faces the competing demands of paying the monthly bills, making sure there is enough nutritious food in her house, and providing clothing for growing children, including a special needs child.
This Thanksgiving, the IFPO will help provide warm winter coats for Lily and her children. Thanks to the generosity of those who donate to our coat drive, we can ensure that Lily and her children, as well as hundreds of other families, will be safe from the elements this winter. And Lily won't have to choose between keeping her children warm and keeping them well-fed.
The IFPO is looking to collect 1,000 new and gently used, good-condition winter coats in both adult and child sizes.
If you are interested in purchasing a new coat for donation, XL and XXL men's and women's coats are most in need, as we receive very few donations in these sizes.
Donations can be brought locally to:
---Congregation Beth El during office hours, for collection by the Sisterhood, until Nov 22. There is a donation box by the main office;
---or to Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel on Sunday, November 24th ONLY between 8:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
Coats may also be brought to our host site Church of the Epiphany and Christ Church, 105 Main Street, Orange on Sunday, Nov. 24 ONLY from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Individual and group drives last year were wonderful coat sources for us. Can your business host a coat drive for us? Would you like to personally host a drive for family and friends, your neighborhood or organization? Reach out if we can be of assistance with your efforts: IFPOranges@gmail.com or 973.856.4000
