Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the IFPO is now serving clients at 357 S. Jefferson Street, Orange. We are longer distributing food at the Church of the Epiphany & Christ Church. The IFPO is open Wednesday mornings, except the first Wednesday of the month.

 

THE IFPO IS CURRENTLY ACCEPTING LIMITED NEW CLIENTS FROM ORANGE, EAST ORANGE and WEST ORANGE ONLY.

 

If you are not currently a registered IFPO client, and reside in East Orange, Orange or West Orange, please email IFPOranges@gmail.com or call/text 973-856-4000 before coming to pantry. Spanish speakers call 908-280-9160 or 908-643-7425. Haitian Creole speakers 609-718-6062.

 

The services and programs listed below are not run by the IFPO. These services are offered by other state, local and non-profit community groups. The IFPO is continually updating this page as we learn of emergency response programs.

The IFPO is working with the townships of Orange and East Orange to get significant quantities of food into the community. Please see information below and check back regularly for updates.

  • Tuesdays, 9:00 - 12:00, Holy Trinity Food Pantry, 315 Main Street, West Orange. ** Open to residents of Orange and those with referrals from an approved agency. Bring ID. IFPO clients, show IFPO card.

  • Monday -Saturday, 9:00 - 11:30, Our Lady of the Valley Church, 510 Valley St., Orange. Takeaway Meal

Monday -Friday, 11:00 - 3:00, Grab & Go Meals for East Orange residents, Fellowship Civic Center, 1 Fellowship Circle, **East Orange residents only.

  • Tuesdays, 9:00 - 12:00, Holy Trinity Food Pantry, 315 Main Street, West Orange. ** 

  • Wednesdays and Thursdays, 10:00 -2:00, City of Orange Food Distribution, 234 Lincoln Avenue (between Jackson Street and Central Avenue).  Produce-only distribution on Mondays at 10:00.  ** Orange Residents Only.  

  • Wednesdays and Fridays at 9:00, Fellowship Civic Center, 1 Fellowship Circle (Greenwood Ave.)  Details here.  ** East Orange residents only.

  • Wednesdays, 11:00 -3:00, Church Women United, 1240 Clinton Ave., Irvington. **Irvington residents only. Must wear mask and gloves and bring ID.

  • Third & Fourth Thursday of the Month, 9:00 -12:00, Joi's Angel Food Pantry, 114 S. Arlington Avenue, East Orange. Third Thursday is also diaper pantry for children up to age 3 (bring birth certificate). ** East Orange residents only​​

  • Saturdays, 12:00 - 1:00, Christine's Kitchen, Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 315 Main Street, West Orange. Free bagged lunch to go. All are welcome.

  • Saturday, August 28, 8:00 - 11:00 AM, Our Lady of Sorrows Food Pantry. 4th St (btw Prospect & Academy), South Orange. Vehicles can pull up to the area marked with cones and pop the trunk to receive a full bag.​​

Covid Vaccinations

Federal law makes the vaccine totally free. You will not be billed. There are no co-payments. 

Anyone over the age of 12 who lives, works, or studies in New Jersey is eligible to be vaccinated – regardless of immigration or insurance status.

Help scheduling vaccines is available to anyone on pantry days. Ask at Registration.

Rental and Housing Assistance

  • New Jersey Covid-19 Emergency Rental Assistance Program: Applicants can seek 12 months of rental assistance, paying for rent arrears incurred since March 13, 2020, and potentially for future rent payments. Eligible residents must be 18 or older, qualify for unemployment or seen a loss in income relating to the coronavirus pandemic, show a risk of housing instability, and have a household income below 80% of the median area income. HELP GETTING VACCINES: 

  • Help scheduling vaccines is available to IFPO clients on pantry days. Ask at Registration. 

  • A vaccine call center to help New Jersey residents, especially seniors, get a COVID-19 vaccination appointment is now live. The center is staffed with 250 agents from 8 am - 8 pm. Call 855-568-0545.

COVID-19 Funeral Assistance Benefits:

Financial assistance for actual funeral costs up to $9,000 may now be available for Covid-related deaths (as indicated on death certificate) in the US. The applicant must be a U.S. citizen, non-citizen national, or qualified alien. There is no requirement for the decedent to have been a U.S. citizen, non-citizen national, or qualified alien.
